Luke's macrobincoculars appear to be a twin lens camera turned on it's side. Twin lens cameras are oriented with the lenses one on top of  the other, instead of side by side like binoculars. The prop is rumored to be a Koni-Omegaflex Blue twin lens reflex camera distiguished from others by the blue gray color of the main body. We have never seen this fabled camera and cannot even confirm it's existence so other twin lens cameras should not be discounted as possibilities at this time.

Shown below is a Koni-Omegaflex M which is the closest match to the prop found so far. It still varies from the macrobinoculars in many respects.
